The Global Dementia Observatory (GDO) Knowledge Exchange Platform (hereafter referred to as ‘the GDO KE Platform’) contains key resources to support the implementation of the Global action plan on the public heath response to dementia 2017-2025 and its seven action areas. The GDO KE Platform enhances countries’ and communities’ response to dementia. It provides a space for stakeholders to share resources (e.g. policies, guidelines, case studies and examples of good practice) available at no-cost, to facilitate mutual learning and promote the exchange of knowledge in the area of dementia.
How does the GDO KE Platform work?
All resources are submitted by users of the GDO KE Platform or any member of the general public. You can submit a resource here. Resources are mapped to at least one of the strategic action areas of the global dementia action plan. Automated filters allow users to search for country-, region- or language-specific resources, narrow down their searches by types of resources (e.g. policies, trainings, tools, practice examples) and other filters.
A comprehensive review process consisting of a panel of peer reviewers who are experts in the field of dementia, a Focus Group of people with lived experience of dementia and the World Health Organization (WHO) Secretariat ensure that selected resources meet quality and good practice criteria. If you are interested in becoming a peer reviewer, click here.
Users of the platform are also invited to leave comments and rate the resources to further enhance the discussion about ways to promote and strengthen dementia practice.
About the GDO
The GDO KE platform is accompanied by the GDO data portal which collates and disseminates data from Member States on 35 key dementia indicators to support evidence-based service planning and strengthening of policies as well as health and social care systems. In addition, the GDO acts as the monitoring and accountability mechanism for the Global action plan on the public health response to dementia 2017 - 2025. You can access the GDO data portal here. The GDO KE Platform supports the data portal.
